Another brunette...

My third brunette in a row, to be exact (yes I'm including Sumo Alfred). This time it's a digital sketch of actress Eva Green (Casino Royale, Kingdom of Heaven), done for a drawing challenge over at the Drawing Board.

Drawn in about 90 minutes in Painter 8 using the Square Chalk tool. I love the natural hand drawn feel it gave the piece.

And as an added bonus, I finally got my screen capture program working again and managed to create a timelapse video of the drawing process.

EDIT 5th April- Added a touch of colour.

I really like the feel of this one. Painter is pretty amazing for natural media effects. The way you use different media encourages me to experiment abit more with all of it's different tools. Thanks!

Great work and generousity.
I've just sent this to my sister to show my 3 yr old nephew. He is now addicted to your time lapse videos. He loves watching the pictures come together.

Your bigger than Wiggles mate!

Hey Chris. This is awesome. I love watching great artists work. Its ever more amazing to me that we can now watch eachother work from across great distances with the use of the internet and screen capture. Don't give up on doing these, we love it.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate all the comments.

metahatem- The only reason I didn't zoom was for the purpose of the video. Just to keep the viewing simple. But when not drawing for video, I always zoom in.

Wow! That is absolutely gorgeous! I'm pretty stunned at how confidently you place your strokes. I'm amazed you did no prelim sketching first! Top notch.

Rayford- Thanks man! Fantastic artwork from you too.

I like drawing sometimes without the safety net of roughs, to see if I sink or swim.

Just beautiful. Though I'm reticent to stop drawing using traditional materials, seeing videos like this makes the combination of tablet and Painter look very tempting.

Hello Chris, your art is very good, and funny sometimes! You inspired me to do a redraw of this piece, first just to see if i could keep up with the video :p but then I worked it out into something more detailed. Thanx for sharing.
