Big Badaboom!

One of my favourite sci-fi movies is a 1997 flick called 'The Fifth Element'. This is a couple of scenes I did from the movie in a comicbook style for a drawing jam on Facebook. It would have been a lot of fun doing a comic adaption of this movie. Loads of great characters and costumes.

EDIT 9th May 2012- The Multipass pic is getting voiced and animated as a little animatic promotion through my reps. I'll post it when I'm able.

Still one of my favorite movies to date. Loved that it didn't take itself too seriously, even though it was well within its rights to.

As a graphic novel, I think it would translate really well into the style you used on this too. You totally nailed it! =)

Now if you'll excuse me, I have the sudden urge to root around in my DVD collection...

You might know that the director, luc besson, worked with two famous french comic-books authors (christian méziere and jean giraud/moebius) to do the design of every stuffs in the movie.

If you read "valerian" by meziere, you'll find a lot of things in common, like the taxies.

I'm really enjoying your blog. You would be my vote for a 5th Element graphic novel.

Your style suits the "Pulp Sci-Fi" nature of the film so well - you should get in touch with Gaumont!

I reckon a comic would also be the best way to expand on the shaved back script - the novelization covers parts that were missed out for time which would be handled better in a visual form.
